Ya Jamil / O Beautiful One: A Rumi Poetry Tour

FREE with Exhibition Admission
Join us for this special in-gallery interpretative and interactive tour offered in conjunction with Beauty and Belief: Crossing Bridges with the Arts of Islamic Culture. The interpretative tour will respond to the overarching exhibition themes of divinity in beauty and unity that holds diversity – the common threads of the Islamic arts amid diverse cultures and ideas. Led by Dr. Paula Saffire, a student and teacher of Sufism who has taught courses on Rumi, art, and Islam at Butler University, the tour will pair pieces from the exhibition with selected readings from Rumi (1207-1273 A.D.) and mystic Islamic poetry.

Register by Friday, November 16
Space is limited to 20 people; advance registration required. To register, please call 317-923-1331 ext. 206 by Friday, November 16. Arrive early to explore the exhibition on your own before the tour.
