Family Spaces

We know it can sometimes be difficult to keep kids engaged during a museum visit. With that in mind, the IMA has designed several spaces where kids can get creative and one-on-one with the art. These are spaces that children and their families will want to visit again and again.

Star Studio

A place where families with young children can imagine, explore, create, share, and collaborate in a free and interactive environment. Star Studio is closed from November 9 to 25 for a reinstallation. On the weekends of November 14 and 15 and November 21 and 22, look for the Star(lite) Art Cart in Pulliam Great Hall, a mobile art-making cart that is facilitated by an IMA Teaching Artist.

The Davis Lab

Hands-on activities at The Davis Lab engage kids in learning. Kids of all ages can design their own cars on our iPad app and magnetic wall.

Activity Spaces

Activity Spaces provide a place where families and children can experience hand-on art activities.
